You know normally I usually almost always give people permission to do stuff with my art or my photos, every once in awhile ill search the web for things and run into my work on pages that I did not give permission too.

Like so.. the chick laying down on the bike, at the end of the photos for the month of april 20th. http://jinxedbaby.stumbleupon.com/

Hmm, they were kind enough to at least link back to my DA account, but I never recieved any request of use for that photo. I hate it when people do that, especially on community sites leaving it almost impossible to get ahold of the person.

congrats carl..you are a professional...Welcome to the club of having stuff stolen.

My favorite was when another photographer ripped off my image I made of my PS Elements 3 box that I was ebaying. The photog in question also did the america 24/7 project and got the software also. Instead of taking an image himself for his ebay ad, he used mine.

Well, I wouldn't consider it actually stealing in this sense. From the site that has your picture on it ..

StumbleUpon lets you 'channel-surf' the net to discover great sites.
With a single click you'll find interesting sites, pictures, videos, blogs
and music recommended by your friends and like-minded people —
interesting websites you wouldn't have found otherwise.
Would you still feel this way if JinXedbAbY (the girl who used this), had just linked your site? From a pro's standpoint, yes, she used it w/o your permission. From an outsider's standpoint, she thought 'hey, this is cool and I'd like others to see it.'

just my 2 cents.

In most cases yes I would have to agree.. but that image was also posted in a magazine and the only bit of my work I have ever had in some sort of publication, and not just that but denise (lady in the photo) wouldn't be happy to see it anywhere without my name around it.

Any other work would had been just something i ignored.
