Me, Pika and the Pop Tart ... - 11-20-2006, 11:17 AM

So this morning I was trying to leave early for work. Trying to avoid that traffic and be a go getter and all that rot. So there I am at 5:45 sitting in the car waiting.

Waiting for what you may ask? Well, waiting for Pika of course.

You see, while it is true that Pika lives in my car (Pika is a rolling stone), every morning Pika likes to come in to the house and feed his little freeloading yellow face. So each morning while I am getting ready, Pika is downstairs making a mess. And that is fine because normally when I am walking out to the car, Pika is already sitting in the passenger seat, ready for the day to begin.

Well early days kind of throw Pika for a loop. You see, he really isn't what you would call a "Morning Plushie". In fact you can call him quite the little bastard.

So this morning when I got to the car and the traditional sight of Pika sitting in the passenger seat, eating his breakfast didn't greet me I wasn't too shocked. I just sat in the driver’s seat and proceeded to play with my DS.

Well about five minutes later Pika comes stomping out carrying a little silver package. Not the usual morning pika sight to be sure. But when he got in the car and started cursing because he stubbed his toe I knew it was going to be one of those days.

"Calm down. What seems to be the problem, man?"

"I'll tell you what the problem is! I had to get up early. I had to come back to the car to get my key. Which reminds me when the hell are we getting a plushie door!"

As an aside, for those of you not familiar with term, a plushie door is much like a doggie door. Only not as degrading. Or sayeth Pika. But, personal honor aside, it operates in much the same way allowing plush persons of a shorter stature access through doors without the aid of step ladders to reach handles.

"I keep telling you no. I am not going to saw a hole in the door just for you."

"Yeah well I bet there is some accessibility law that says you have to!"

"No, there isn't. Trust me, I know these things."

"Whatever. And as long as we are talking about how cheap you are: when are we getting a new TOASTER!??!?! That piece of crap didn't even work. Now I got a cold pop tart!"

"So? Eat it anyway."

"I can't eat a cold pop tart. That is unsanitary, insane and unright! I'll get food poisoning or something. You're trying to kill me, aren't you? That's what this whole 'getting up early, torturing Pika' thing is all about, isn't it? Well I'm onto you!! Your evil plans are wrapped in foil now buster! And there they shall stay!!!!!!" And with that, Pika threw the package of pop tarts at me.

"Fine. You want to be a little yellow ass, be one. I'll just eat your pop tart to add hunger to insanity." And with that I proceeded to eat the pop tart. Cold.

"Eeeeeeewwwwwwwww!!! Dude you gon'na get sick! You can't eat an uncooked pop tart. You'll get ... herpes or something! OMG, you're gon'na freaking die of pop tart cooties!"

"You need help. Do you know that?"

"No, but I know you're gon'na need stomach pump. And when they cart you off I'm going to steal your wallet and order a plushie door." And with that Pika went into the back seat to sulk. The rest of the ride went well and in silence. And here I am, six hours after having eaten the unheated pop tart, alive and kicking.

But I do have a slight tummy ache. Not that I plan to tell Pika.

Prophet out.

Pop tarts are evil period. But I have heard they have been used very successfully for rodent control on the docks in Jakarta.

Poptarts? - 11-20-2006, 01:26 PM

Didnt they do some kind of research on poptarts, they found some in a landfill (not sure of the specifics) they'd been there for like 20 years and they were still breaking down/decaying? <shrug> just what I'd heard.

I used to like Pop Tarts before they changed the recipe for the pastry, added frosting to them all, and poured sprinkles on them. They already were unbelievably sweet before the additions, but I guess they need the frosting and sprinkles to "kick it up a notch." Now they are terrible.
