Yeah, that's kind of what I thought. Everyone thinks of seals being cute and friendly, and sharks being nothing more than big, ugly, murderous brutes.
However, such is the circle of life.

Or had to drive of the seal lion from the dock before you and friend could get to his boat to go out and then clean the cockpit they had used as a litter box. Seals and sea lions are also big, ugly, smelly nunsances but unlike sharks protected.
