we got ours at Lubys. but we have spent the last 6 hours cleaning the house. My office looks a lot nicer now. only thing is we just hid most of the junk, so it will resurface soon and we will be back to normal.

also put the tree up tonight this is the earliest I have ever put up a tree.

I got the mashed potatos, the stuffing, and a cake done today. Tomorrow morning I will prep and roast the bird. It's obscene the amount of butter I go through. About 3/4 lb for the bird itself, including the stuffing, another 1/4-1/2 lb for the mashed potatos and the cake.

This is my first year doing a turkey and the whoel lot of it. MAde the stuffing and stuffed the bird, boiled eggs and made Jello tonight. The rest is all tomorrow... well later today considering that I'm writing this post at 2:21am.

Convinced my mom to try a "high-heat" turkey.

Heat oven to 500....fill turkey tray about 1/2 with water....the steam keeps it juicy while the high heat crisperizes the outside.

13lbs done in one and 1/2 hours....and just as juicy good as cooked for 6-7 or whatnot

Well... it's time to get back in the game.

I believe if you tackle a turduken you have to cook them at a lower temp for a longer time, now you may start at a high heat to crisp up the skin a bit to seal in the juices but since you have all that meat and very little body cavity I would bet a long cooking time.

My turkey gets juicy from the appox 1Lb of Butter that I crammed between the skin and the meat. It takes time for all that buttery goodness to sink in. Only two people at the table had to use the defibrillator.

I'd like to try the high heat method sometime, but if you are gonna do that, why not just fry?

It was awesome. We took it out around 10-10:30, and it was awesome. Sarah's parents do a HUGE thanksgiving thing, and he mom does it very southern-proper (the best linens, waterford crystal, all the silver, ect). Well, I couldn't go to Dallas this year thanks to work, so they came here and we did it all in out new house. I was STRESSED, but it was awesome. Great Thanksgiving...

I hope all of yours went as well as ours did!
