Local Fox Outlet does these Deal or Dud stories and he covered 4 of the local portrait studio packages and points out the fine print.

What is interesting is that it looks like Wallmart may be using this as a loss leader to get more people through the door since the $9.98 charge (+tax) covers little more than the print costs of the pictures offered. So they really either push people to buy other items with their pic on it or they may tell the people to come back in X minutes to pic up their photos so spend that time shopping.

One of the poses chosen by one of the photographers to me made the youngest child look like he was dead and another was just plain terrible with the kids looking like they were told "climb up there and do what you want".

I have used Wal-Mart before to get photos taken of my kids, and they tried to get us to buy everything under the sun. What they dont tell you is the hiden charges. You can only have X number of people in the shot, one pose, one shot good or bad. At least at the Walmart we went to that was the case.

Took about 3-4 weeks to get the prints back.

I was surprised by the simple fact Walmart and Target didn't upsell. Not surprised by the lack of quality by any of them. Though for what you paid for from Walmart it was the best of the bunch.

For the budget conscious Walmart isn't a bad choice.

How you doin'?

Saw that this morning.... very "illuminating". You can find those photographer jobs all the time listed in the want ads. "no experience necessary", and apparently none is ever given.
