Got my New Book!!! - 11-25-2006, 10:03 PM

Corney I know.....But I just got The Photoshop CS2 Book by Scott Kelby. I'm so thrilled I may not get much sleep tonight!!! I'm very good at following directions and sometimes those online tutorials just don't do it for me. There's so much I've wanted to learn but was just never into it. Maybe I'll WOW my TPF family with a cool photo someday. ANyway, since y'all are family I just wanted to share my cheap thrill!

Oh yeah... that's the book that pushed me a lot further ahead in CS2 than I ever would have gotten. Don't forget the articles on the Luminous Landscape site too. Whoa... they changed the site...

Have fun with it.

I have two of Kelby's book Elements3 for Digital Photographers, and Photoshop Channel Book. He's very clear, and you can do some good stuff following his instructions. He basically doesn't try to explain why anything works, and he can be a little bit short on saying what the limitations of his recipes are: what you don't want to use it on and why it might not work in certain situations. And I could do without his chapter intro attempts at humor (in fact, I now do without them, because I just skip them).

So, if you like the cookbook approach, Kelby's book will be great for you.
