Hate is too strong a word, but shopping today sure was annoying.
One lady monopolized the camera counter at the Sony Style Store for 20 minutes, putting all of her crap (and her elbows) on the glass display case holding the cameras my GF is interested in, talking loudly on her cellphone while simultaneously barking questions and orders(!) at the poor employee working that section. She bossed him around like they were married or something, and when I tried to get a question in edgewise she went a little nuts.
How dare I shop in her store?
The sheer number of "shoppers"--people playing with the toys is much more accurate--at the Apple Store was incredible.
Many acted as though they owned the place including one guy who played an online game on a computer the whole time we were there.
Just killing time I imagine, because he sure wasn't interested in buying, but he effectively shut out anyone who was interested in that particular item.
The guy who wouldn't move out of our way despite two polite "excuse me"s got shoved a little and then hit with my camera bag. Oooopsie!
And for some reason, by the time we left both stores every unoccupied computer was displaying photos from my blog.
Anyone care to share similar experiences?

Every year from Thanksgiving to Xmas, I try as hard as I can to avoid any mall. Basically, I think if the shopping atmosphere kills the Christmas spirit, then its better to look elsewhere. And besides, I have an extremely low tolerance for the latest Country and Western hack's version of "its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year," or Kenny G doing "Winter Wonderland".

I'm with Scott on this one. I buy as much online as I can. There was only one place I went to that I didn't do online. I knocked that out today but I think I ran across the same exact woman. She was hanging over the display counter at James Avery, talking on the cell, hovering over the same piece(s) I needed to look at. Then I get the go to hell look as I tried to write down the item numbers so the sales woman can get them for me. As this obnoxious woman glared at me I just smiled, winked, blew her a kiss, then walked away after a very shocked look... ;) Much better than telling her she could move her loud mouth fat a** off of the display case so others can have a chance to shop...

But to answer your question...YES I hate my fellow shopper (getting on my high horse)! I think Christmas or "The Holidays" are too freakin commercial nowadays. People concentrate on buying gifts instead for celebrating what we already have and the real meaning of Christmas. I will stop there before I start a religious riot. Then again my comments are always on the weird side. (Stepping off my high horse).
DONE!

I'm an equal opportunity hater when it comes to Xmas shopping. Just give me my pay as you go, steal my numbers I dare you, online purchases only credit card and I'm a happy camper.

I actually gained a lot of cred by doing my Christmas shopping for several years without stepping one foot in a mall (pre-internet days).
Looking through the local RitzCamera was a breeze today since they had only 3 or 4 customers despite the adverts with Carmen Electra on them.
(Who thinks 'Electra' is her real last name?...and Navarro isn't what I mean.)

For the first time in many years, I actually went shopping yesterday. There were a couple items I needed from CompUSA. Luckily they opened at 5:00 yesterday morning, and weren't too crowded (it only took about 10 minutes to get through the check-out line). As of 5:30 yesterday morning, my normal practice resumes -- if I can't get it online, either my wife goes and gets it, or I don't need it that badly :-)

Who goes to stores, when there's the web?

Just remember what goes around comes around and that lady will probably get a mouthfull from her ungratefull spawn who are mad because she got the wrong model or wrong color and she will have to go back to the store and try to exchange the item and she has to deal with Customer Service!

This is what I don't understand...
Person A buys Person B a gift... Person B feels that since Person A bought them a gift then they have to buy one for Person A. Now the gift each received is something they don't like and most likely can't use.
Wouldn't it have been better if they saved their money and bought themselves something or not bought anything and maybe kept from going into debt to do it? After all, some of the best gifts in life can't be bought... Such as being a friend and being there for your friends and family when they need someone to talk to or need a little help doing something.
And just because someone is your spouse, sibling, parent, etc doesn't meen you can't still be their friend.

Not only are these creeps in the stores, they are equally rude and hoggish on the roadways!
