I'm glad your happy, but... - 11-29-2006, 06:00 PM

you can have the snow!

I hate being cold...brrrrrrrrrr (Don't get me wrong, I hate the TX heat also. Just give me a year-round temp of 76F and I'll be happy!)

I'd take some snow... I don't have to shovel it!

I hate Winter!! The only place for ice is in a drink and not on the ground.

I'll take 90 days of 100+ to two days of freezing weather.

Oh, I need to move to Corse or Costa Rica...

Ah, it only 11C in Calvi now...

I spent most of my life in upstate NY.

Snow = shovels, snowblowers, snow tires, antifreeze, studded tires, 4 wheel drive, snow suits, snow banks, black snow, yellow snow, cold, icey roads, bad drivers, etc.

A couple of years ago when it snowed, I went out to the Dallas Arboretum. I was one of about three people there that day. Got some neat shots of the little houses with snow on and around 'em, though- definitely not your normal Arboretum shots.

and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

I love winter here.. all two days of it. :)

Gimme 12 months like April, though.. that and October are probably my favorite months here.

Snow also equals: skiing, toboganning, hot drinks by the fire, visible breath, wonderful photography opportunities, moonlit nights that are simply magic with the light reflecting off the fresh snow, a different kind of quiet than you will ever hear under other conditions...

I like the snow, I like desert heat. I'm not particularly fond of the swamp heat, mosquitos and fire ants that come with this territory. If it gets cold enough for a few days to kill the bugs off for once, I would be perfectly happy. Snow would just be a bonus, but I doubt we'll see any here in Houston.
