Only if you haven't emptied your trash bin. Tell me it wasn't your .pst folder.

no - it was a folder IN my outlook file - not the pst file itself...

If it's still in your trash bin you can restore it from there

You might try the system restore. It might get it back.
Have you ever 'backed up' your Outlook files? If so, It should be in the backup.

This may not help Janet out in this instance, but here's something every Outlook user should have!

thanks everyone - how this happened, is i had a folder - janet's business emails...

which sat right next to the junk folder - since they were both j's...
evidently i deleted it by accident - (i was really tired yesterday)

i do backup the outlook folder - but not as regularly as i should obviously. i was just hoping that before i emptied the recycle bin, or did something else, it would be easy enough to get this file back...i guess not.

i actually have the same pst file on my laptop, so i can use that to restore with losing a little data - but not all!

thanks for all of your replies

That MS download I pointed to will do this automatically, at whatever interval you set it to run. I have been using it for about two years and have it set to BU every other day. If I had a lot of business mail, I would set it to run more often than that. When it is set to run, it asks permission first, then overwrites the last BU.

Janet,
I use Mozilla (Netscape) which is not webmail so it is on my local drive just like Outlook is on yours. If I delete a folder its only becomes a folder under the 'Trash' folder. You might check there also. Maybe Outlook and Netscape are similar in this respect.

Best of luck and hope this helps,

If you are running XP, a system restore to before the accident should do the trick. I would rename the folder. I accidentally delete my junk mail foder regularly, so I feel your pain.

How often do you remove mail from the server? I NEVER" remove mine. Yes I have 3 GB's of mail. But I do have it. If you had any attahments in the folder and you can remember what type they were, like a .doc or an excel file, and the name, try doing a search for that name and type. Never can tell.
