Slides And 5.25" Floppies - 12-05-2006, 10:14 PM

Well we're getting ready for Christmas. At our house it means going through most of the closets, sheds, etc. We got into one closet that had not seen the light of day for years. Boxes and boxes of 35mm slides. There must be a couple thousand of them. If memory serves me there are some from high school and college as well as Taiwan and Japan. After the holidays I know I'll be going through them. I may spend a bit of time in the next week to look through them and see if I have any of my son. He was born in Japan. He'll be home for Christmas and he's bringing a girl with him. Hmm. ((I know, mean daddy.))

Also I found a bunch of 5.25 floppy discs. I thought of showing them to the 7 year old grandson but he'll probably look at them the same way he did my LPs. "Oh, Pawpaw, you're old." Aren't the little ones just grand? Most were just junk but I did find a system disk and tutorial for the Commordore 128. I don't have the Commodore anymore. I gave it to my brother back in 1989/1990. He has since given it away and upgraded but it did get him interested in computers.

Back to the next closet. I wonder what we'll find there. I hope it's benevolent.

I have a feeling that something like that might happen to me in a year or two.

5.25 floppies? how about 8" single sided single density? I wish I had kept one for posterity.

My kids are still mad at the wife for selling the Atari (2600?) in a garage sale....
