A high quality 24”X36” color poster has been created to present historical images of the Dallas Police Department from 1881 to 2006. Containing 124 images, this poster will be offered for sale in two versions:

Two hundred and fifty (250) Premium posters will each bear the original signatures of Det. James R. Leavelle (ret.), Mrs. J.D. (Marie) Tippit, Lt. J. Carl Day (ret.), Off. Bobby Hargis (ret.) and Chief of Police David M. Kunkle. This version will sell for $300 plus tax.

Forty-five hundred (4500) Standard posters will lack the signatures and will sell for $30 plus tax.
Beginning Wednesday, December 13, 2006 both versions will be available exclusively at the Dallas Police Association offices at 1412 Griffin Street East, Dallas, TX 75215, ph. 214-747-6839.

Sales of Premium posters will be limited to three (3) posters per person and no pre-sales will be allowed.

All proceeds from sale of these posters go to the DPD Museum construction fund.

Det. Leavelle was handcuffed to Lee Harvey Oswald when Oswald was shot by Jack Ruby, Sunday, November 24, 1963.

Marie Tippit is the widow of Officer J.D. Tippit who was murdered by Oswald on Friday, November 22, 1963.

Lt. Day was the day shift commander over the Physical Evidence Section on Friday, November 22, 1963 and it was he who recovered a palm print of Lee Harvey Oswald from the barrel of the rifle used to assassinate President Kennedy.

Officer Hargis was the motorcycle officer immediately to the left rear of the Presidential limousine when President Kennedy was shot.
