Unless you're building a pure gaming rig... Why the SLI board and $450 video card? Seems a bit much for photo editing. Have fun with it nonetheless.

No Camera And No Lenses Right Now...
Maybe a new Canon 1D series in the future?

I always recommend gaming computers, because software is constantly being updated and for the simple fact you don't have to upgrade for a very long time.

Why get a 5D when a XT still takes great pictures. I am trying to get back into gaming. Since I am almost done with my MBA, I have some time to catch up. Plus playing games at 1920x1200, I needed something with a little more horsepower. Plus this board with the new 680i chipset with the memory I got, will allow me to overclock allowing me to photo edit much faster

Yeah, but at least I've been able to refrain from turbocharging it... Who really NEEDS a 400 HP street motorcycle anyway?

I guess my question to the OP was based on the fact that his signature line says he already has 8 computers and he was bemoaning the fact that he wants and could have purchased, a 70-200 f/2.8 with what he was spending on the new rig.

What? No case? Just kidding. I say if you got the bones and wan'na play games go for it.

Me I'd love to upgade to a bleeding edge system. But I got horses to feed. Freeloading bastages. However I did just buy a friend an Alienware laptop. So she is set for gaming now too.

Prophet out.
