126 film processing, Austin Texas?? Please help. - 12-11-2006, 08:25 PM

Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can get 126 film processed (near Austin) to make a print for my parents for Christmas of their wedding from 1972. I've been having a hard time finding anyone local and would like to go local before shipping off my irreplaceable film. Time is running short, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I know someone who can make your film digital, if that helps.

Yeah, how does that work? They convert it then I can get digital prints? I'm sorry, don't know a ton about film/photos etc. Are they in Austin and how long do you think it may take?

She is in Austin, I have NO CLUE if she is busy and she's hard to reach. I'll find her number for you and PM it to you, I suggest you call her right away. She deals with old film all the time.

I second Hollands. I'm sure Precision Camera does it , but they are pricier than Holland when it comes to special film processing.

If Precision does it, then they don't mention it on their website.

Called both weeks ago. None of them do it. :( Hollands said that they can scan an original print. But the quality isn't the greatest...so I don't know. I can't believe that no one can do it in Austin.

Please start over with all of the details.

126 film, I got that.

Which emulsion? Color? Negative? Slide? B&W?

Go to this website and see if they can handle the film you have:

www.dwaynesphoto.com

They do 126. All film types.

Do not worry about Dwayne's spoiling your film. People trust them everyday with priceless images.

Believe it! 126 film left the market ages ago. Film processing is a shrinking service. Be glad the Dwayne's still does it.
