I will aways remember him in his role as Joe in the film of the same name.

I saw Joe when it came out. I was living in Los Angeles at the time. He was also great as the murderous bartender in The Friends of Eddie Coyle.

Yeah Brad, everytime I think of him though, it always reminds me of Young Frankenstein.

That Yahoo pic shows that he had been losing weight.
His role in Young Frankenstein is one of the funniest out there, wonder what Mel had to say about his passing.

I didn't know that he had recovered from a stroke years ago, I think I had heard when he had the heart attack a few years back.

Well he was a good actor and will be missed.

He also had a role on the X-files once that was one of my fav X-files episodes (in addition to the ones listed above).

He looked pretty good when I took the girls to see Santa Clause 3, but I was watching Mind of Mencia a few weeks ago and he came on stage with Carlos and seemed very different.

A very versitle actor/comedian that I enjoyed for many years in many roles.

Holy Crap!!

(I say "Holy Crap" as a direct result from his character on ELR.)

Sad to see him go.

I think THE major strength of ELR is/was the supporting characters. Let's face it, Ray couldn't have done this for a single season without some dynamite characters to surround him and (IMHO) make the show work.

While the same can be said of most shows, here it was absolutely a requirement as I just don't think Ray's character or his style is worthy of more than an occassional chuckle by itself. I never really cared for his standup routines, as they needed someone to play off of to work.

imho, Mr Boyle was the real star of the show, with "Mom" being a close second. Seasoned pros.

Boyle was great. I loved him as Wizard in Taxi Driver.

Romano was smart enough to learn from Seinfeld that a show works best when you leave alot of the comedy to the real actors.
