Man, that sucks... people do that sometimes though, for reasons I don't really understand.

Become a member of PPA and let the attorneys handle that for you. I know they are expensive, but I thought about it for two years and decided to give them a try.
They will do all the work for you. I also agree to contact MM and lodge a complaint.

Nice to send a cease and desist letter to him anyways, and maybe an invoice for web display of the image.

If he ever gets his website up, watch for the image to show up there.
Then send his host a Cease & desist with DRMCA language to get his site shutdown.

"You proved it was yours? how.. cause you say so? Man I have thoussands of shots of alli and hundreds exactly like that one. just because you shot one that happens to look exactly or similar to one I have does not mean it's yours. "

he still wont admit its my work even after i showed him all the originals

GP, you don't need to prove to HIM that it's your photo- if it's yours, he already knows it; if he lies about it, a mountain of proof isn't going to change his lie.

I agree that posting someone else's photo as your own is just idiotic. If you can duplicate the results, you don't need the other person's work; if you can't, then you're just causing yourself all kinds of grief with disappointed models.

does he know the chances of it being the exact same shot?....same lens, angle, time of day or light setup in studio.

Everything he set up was an exact replica of you?

Seriously....what are the chances of that happening?

Now photographers have to put watermark or signature all over the image to prevent theft.

I'm pretty sure the photog for my brothers wedding had posted images that werent hers on her website to get clients. He got back total newbie images and they were green!

At least you found it...and that's pretty flattering, too.
