Alright, the Imation labels I've been using don't seem to be available anymore. It's not so much that I loved these labels, but the Imation program used to make them was a dream to use. Now I have to move on. Does anyone feel strongly about the label program they are using? If so what is the program and what brand of labels are you using?

I've recently begun using LightScribe with SureThing CD Labeler. It works beautifully but can take a few minutes (~15-20) to write the label onto the disc. Sure is professional-looking though.

I use SureThing labels software at home and for the church CD's And tapes. Have tried them all, Surething seems to be the best of them. Have been a user for the past six years.

It is downloadable from there web site or you can order a hard copy.

Last time I looked it was somewhere around $24.95 for the full version. It is very user friendly

Hope this helps

Thanks guys. This is great news. Last time I bought CDs and DVDs I bought them in bulk, and have quite a few left. In the mean time my DVD burner went out and I replaced it with the HP Light Scribe. With this program I can make regular labels and Light Scribe labels. Yipee! Doesn't take much to make me a happy girl! Thanks a bunch.

I have been printing directly on CD/DVD for a while now.. but have gotten lazy. My R200 is not even hooked up anymore since I got the R2400. I looked at the Lightscibe media yesterday.. Wish it was a bit cheaper. Although, I should probably not really worry about that since the only thing I need to actually scribe would be customer discs. Hmm... I may be off to Frys tonight. LOL

There are also ink-jet printers that print directly to the CD (and double as a 'normal' printer too), and ink jet printable CD's are available from various manufacturers (including Taiyo Yuden). Much cleaner/better solution than labels. There are also the multi-color thermal and dye sublimation printers, but they are a bit on the pricey side.

Yeah.. I used to use my R200 inkjet for that.. Only problem with it since it is not pigment based, it is not waterproof and must dry for a few minutes. Just a bit of sweat or moisture and they smear. I resorted to spraying mine with a matte spray after I burned and printed. Sort of a pain....but worked.

Yea, I've been using an R200 to print directly on the CD as well... it has worked well for me. The ones I do use to give to customers (actors and models) get printed ahead of time with all the contact info.. and then write (I know, I shouldn't) the date on the cd directly.

Since I don't usually deliver to other customers on CD, this works for me.

The SureThing Label Software works with all the name brand labels and some I've never heard of. They have a full function downloadable trail version also.

I have the R200 also, never used it for labels though.

Acoustica.

I heard about this software on a forum somewhere, bought it and like it. Thought I'd pass on the word.

http://www.acoustica.com/cd-label-maker/

I also print directly to disc with my R300.

Hope this helps.

We have a CD burner here that will burn and print 25 CD's an hour. The printable CDs are inexpensive and local. It is more for "short runs" of CD's than indiviual ones, but it works like a champ.

Can you use these for regular labels as well?
