Another vote for mpix. I've used them for a while and really am pleased.

The luster paper from EZprints is a pro paper and does come with the message on the back. I'm not sure about the others.

Does this printing on the back really stop any one from getting copies made? I all ways put a copy write in the back printing anyways.

no it is just a point that if I am gonna sell a print it should be on a pro paper.

So... the last time I actually worked directly with paper I shot slide film and printed on Ilford Cibachrome. That was over 16 years ago.

Due to an 8 year lapse in photography where I did not shoot at all, I'm not up to speed with paper any longer. If the Fuji Crystal Archive Professional paper that EZPrints is not professional paper, what do you consider good paper for digital prints? This is not sarcastic in any way ... I'm lost, because I thought this was good paper considering the results I've received so far.

Thanks!

now the Fuji pro papers are good...and EZprints may be using them now, but I know that photoreflect, printroom, smugmug ect ect, were using the consumer grade Fuji paper. For the same price Mpix and WHCC (i think) use the Kodak Eudura Professional Papers for the same price...if not a little cheaper sometimes.....

The standard Fuji Crystal Archive to me is just flimsy and from what I have had printed does not stand up well to areas that have lots of window light.

I gave a CD to a local school of some football images and they had them printed on the Fuji consumer paper in 20x30, and in a room with northern light, the prints are already yellow and are only 2 years old. The ones I had printed at Mpix for them 3 years ago look just as good as they did when the fedex man delivered them.

This is totally false. Unless you are getting a resellers discount (then I apologize) all of Mpix prices are higher. There are few exception because those prints are available in Luster. Now I will agree I am not fond of EZprints rolling up my larger prints and placing them into tubes, but but this is easily fixed by various flattening techniques.

I too find the speed of delivery, Pro Paper and excellent picture quality my reason for continued use of Mpix. I havent done any side by side comparisons between them and EZPrints but my only time to use EZprints raher than Mpix... my pictures seemed a little bland. It just didnt have the pro look I had experienced from MPIX, so I have been sold by MPix ever since. I might note that I dont use Mpix becuase of price. Their pricing is VERY fair considering the quality! Cheap is not my buying decision.

Guess the best way for you to answer your question is to have the same image printed at both places. Use Luster Coat and see if they both look "Pro", then you will have your answer

Do those of you that use MPix also use them to print portrait "sheets" (like a 5x7 with 8 wallets or 2 5x7s)? And I guess to do this with them you would have to use a program like Fotoslate to create your sheet and upload an image formatted to 8x10.

I have had the pleasure of using both....I had a rush order and wasn't sure if EZPrints (smugmug) would deliver in time, so I ordered the same print from Mpix. Quality was essentialy the same and I've never had a problem flattening the prints for framing and to date, none of my customers have. I've also been very pleased with the paper quality as well....
