Bored

Here I sit. 4 hours at work and 4 hours to go. I'm sure people are tired of seeing my pointless 2 cents on their threads so I decided to make a pointless thread for me. Working holidays sucks. I worked every holiday this year. I'm on nights this week, so at least I get to see my nieces get their Santa gifts Monday morning. The only good thing about working this holiday season is that NOBODY is here. So I pulled out the computer and jumped on good ole TPF so I am not as lonely. Just thought I'd share since I had nothing better to do (other than work, but we won't go there.)

I feel your pain my brotha'! I used to have to work the holidays all the time, and the graveyard shift at that. It truly sucks that businesses have to stay open during the holidays. There needs to be a federal law that penalizes businesses for being open on 'national holidays'. The only things that should be running are essential services. (i.e. police, fire, ems, utilities, etc.)

Hope the next four hours goes by quickly for you.

I had the same problem back when I used to work for a hotel chain...uh.. a few (is 18yrs a few) years ago.

I know the feeling Robert. I have to work tomarrow and xmas day! I currently work at a hotel, so its not so bad, my boss lets me play on the computer, shoot pics and everything at work!

Unfortunately my job is an "essential" I am the building operator for Henry Wade Juvenial Justice Center, and the Cook Chill Facility (they cook/chill the food, and wash all clothes with assistance of inmates.) Somebody has to be here for floods, power outages or silly stuff like light bulbs.

I don't mind it really, I'm just bored. I can only play Madden 07 on my PSP so many times to pass the time.

ahhh, the joys of working the holidays. I did that for about 8 years so I know how you feel, it sucks.... anyway, hope you get plenty of rest on your time off

Working the holidays is my favorite. No shopping, and less extended familly. Also, work is always slow, so I can goof all day.

hoiday workin SUCKS lol im a dog groomer and do you know HOW many people want thier dogs and cats groomed at xmas lol tommorrow will be #18 in a row without a day off and the last 6 or 7 have been 14 hour ones, but its a straight commission gig so ya gotta get it while ya can plus the tips get A LOT better at xmas
