Just curious about this site, good or bad? I was looking at renting form them, just curious before I do. Do they just hold the credit card or is there a deposit?

I've used them before and I didn't notice if they put a hold on my credit card or not. There was no deposit. The lens was in good condition and the prepaid shipping makes it easy to send back. The USPS will even come pick it up if you call a day ahead. I'd rent from them again.

You might also check out www.lensprotogo.com. I've heard nothing but great things about them (though I haven't tried them myself - yet).

I had no problems renting from rentglass. saw no other charges on my account other then the lens rental itself. No holds, etc.

Hi folks,

I'll be happy to help you out with a lens. We've had many, many happy customers since we opened last summer. We are very customer and service oriented so please let me know how we can help.

Thanks,
Paul

Don't know much about LensProToGo....

I've been interested in RentGlass before but everytime I check them out the popular Nikkor lenses that I want (28-70 f/2.8, and 70-200 f/2.8 VR) seem to be perpetually out of stock. Seems like they don't have much depth of inventory.

Nikon D3 | 28-70 f/2.8 | 70-200 f/2.8 VR | 200-400 f/4 VR | 50 f/1.4 | TC-14E II | SB-800 | SB-600

That lensprotogo place doesn't sound too bad at all. I may just do that next time instead of dealing with those people at LightTec. I hate that freaking place.

Prophet out.

We're definitely not bad at all, Prophet. In fact, we're quite good. If you try us out, you'll see for yourself.

I know how you feel about the lack of inventory at other places, Porsche. We're doing our best to keep up with demand by constantly adding new inventory. Plus, you can always call or email to reserve a lens in advance.

Thanks,
Paul
