Do you have specific photography-related goals for 2007? Mine are as follows:
- Add one photography book to my monthly reading regimen
- Become official with assumed name and sales tax I.D.
- Create new web site with online sales capability
- Market my business more aggressively (not sure how though; this is my weakness)
- Expand my vision
- Shoot more and better
All of this with the objective of going full-time.
He who aims at nothing, hits nothing.

In no particular order:
- Finally go "pro" (for real this time)
- Fix my website
- Fix the deficiencies in my gear lineup
- Learn how to shoot better (more good shots per capita)

Well I want to try to get ends to meet before someone moves an end so I can afford to get my main camera fixed, buy some L glass and start making some money at photography.

Shoot more regularly. When I go a while without shooting I get rusty. Sometimes work, schedule, etc makes it easy to go weeks or even longer without shooting. So I want to make it more of a priority to get out there and shoot on a regular basis.

This is a great topic. Here are mine:
*Build more secondary and tertiary editorial clientele. I have a good base of primary clientele but need to concentrate on a broader base of occassional but steady editorial clients.
*Pick up at least three new commerical accounts.
*Market more aggressively to national ad agencies as a source for stock and assignment photography.

* Improve my marketing
* Triple my gross income from photography over 2006 (I did better than that in 2006 over 2005).
* Join a professional organization
* Find a mentor who can help me reach the next level in both my photography and my business in general. Quote: |

Ok mine:
*Take advantage of my time off during the summer and attend some workshops.
*Expand my marketing efforts
*actually maintain my website----LOL
*get the wife trained up on my/our PS, C1 workflow.
*Enter more print comps. only did 2 this year....
*Stop being cheap and buy the big Pelican case with the wheels...
*Buy some more glass.
*Pick up at least 2 more backup bodies
*Build a new Vista Machine - dedicated to post processing work only. - so I don't do what I am doing now, which is reading forums while I am supposed to be working on a wedding book.
*Buy a new home with space for studio - currently using another photog's studio - he and his wife are great friends that have kept my business afloat after making the change to teaching.
*Actually get all my sales tax stuff done BEFORE the day it is due.
*Rearrange the office/production room in my home.
Last but not least. Enjoy every minute I have with my 3 year old this summer. She is growing up way too fast.......

[-] Lose weight. I know it sounds like it isn't photography related but it is. It affects a lot of the self portraits I take :p
[-] Take a class.. I don't really know anything abou tthe technical side of photography. I rely solely on my artistic eye. I'd really like to be able to have both a technical grasp of taking photos as well as an artistic one.
[-] Get a job. I'd really like to be able to work as someone's assistant to learn the tricks of the trade and make a little money in the process. Unfortunately I'm not sure it's possible to find a job like this as I've been looking for about a year now, hahah.
[-] Shoot more. I was sad when I went through my photos from 2006 to select my picks for the contest. I barely took anything. I gotta get out more and shoot more stuff. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
