Anyone ever say this to you? - 01-01-2007, 07:34 PM

Has anyone ever said this to you:

"Hey, that camera of yours really takes great pictures"

or some variant of it. I've heard it enough that it doesn't bother me as much as it did. Now I only want to choke them until their eyes bug out

I take that comment as a compliment. I just smile and say 'Thank you' what else is there for you to do?

happens all the time. I choose to let it slide. There's no reason to take it as an insult if it wasn't said as one. There are bigger issues in the world.

I was pretty much exageratiing. I never hear it from photographers (unless they are jacking with me) (I hope ) My sisters are the worst... but I love 'em so I don't worry about it. However I'm going to use Shanes idea the next time I have dinner with one of them

no , it never comes from photographers (that I'm aware of!). It comes from non-photogs exclusively, that's why I take it for what it's worth: a misguided but nonetheless sincere compliment.

You should say, "Yeah, it takes great pictures... when I am using it." Hehe.

Occasionally, I hand the camera to someone else to get a pic of my husband and I or something like that. I put it on center focus and tell them just to put the red dot on my face. Occasionally, it works out, but usually I don't like the result.

Honestly, though, I just say thanks, and tell them the picture they took is good.

Of course, it could be worse. Has anyone ever told you "Your camera sure takes some crummy pictures"?
