Indiana Jones rides again! - 01-01-2007, 10:43 PM

I thought Harrison Ford had called it quits on the character of Indiana Jones, but it looks like he's signed on for one more film. I guess that he figured if Sylvester Stallone can keep beating a dead horse, so can he. Don't get me wrong - I loved the "Raiders" movies, but I think that Harrison Ford is getting a tad old to play that kind of role anymore. I hope he proves me wrong.

Anyway, here's a link to the movie info. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/...5a439cf257d65d

Jeez, and how old is he by now? I guess the walking scenes will be played by a stunt double, then...

You know, we went to the movies the other day and every single preview was for a sequel except for the Simpsons trailer (which being based on a long-running TV show is even less original).

well dear lord I hope that Speilberg and Ford take into accountFord's age and at least let him fight some Neo Nazis - possibly skin heads LOL! - instead of the original Hitler Youth. World War II didn't last twenty years....

Nothing has been shot yet, they are still working on the script!

I hope they get Sean Connery back and then add a son or daughter in for Indiana to give it another generation to build on.

Really there were a lot of archeological discoveries back in the late 50's early 60's mostly in Central America and then Eqypt (of course) so he can get away from the Nazi angle and the Crusades angle and go into the Spanish Gold direction and all the plunder that they were sending back to Spain from the New World. Maybe tie in with the Fountain of Youth that was being sought in the new world or the 7 cities of gold direction.

Some scenes in the previous movies were shot in Arches National Park in Utah and some were shot on the narrow gauge Railroads in Southern Colorado/Northern New Mexico and to be honest I think they can make a damn fine movie.

Now get Sean in and have Indiana discover that he does have a kid who is into archeology also and that all 3 get mixed up with some evil Central American Dictator and Freedom Fighters (aka Che') and you can go of from there.

I just saw on Movies.com that there was yet another Die Hard movie in the works too. Is it just me, or does it seem like they have run low on original ideas?

The people who get to say "GO" in Hollywood haven't had an idea, much less an original idea, in at least 25 years. The reason you see so many movies, comic strips, TV shows, video games, amusement park rides, etc, is because the decision to make a movie is now made more by the studio marketing department than it is by the filmmakers. All of the above are seriously pre-sold, so there seems to be less risk on investment. That's all it is. If you gave the creative people (screenwriters, directors, etc...) license, you would end up with a lot better, and a lot worse, product.

I like the Spanish Gold angle. Maybe Indy could meet up with Jack Sparrow. Now that's an idea the marketing guys would love.

I saw "Rocky Balboa" and really enjoyed it. There was a good storyline, some humor, and it was a movie I didn't mind taking my son to see. We went on a Friday evening, and the theater was 85 percent full. I'm looking forward to the next "Indiana Jones." It's nice to see these "old" guys not throwing in the towel just yet.

Indiana Jones vs Bubba Ho-tep. It'd have everything, a retirement home for Indi, Egyptian Mummies, Elvis, JFK and Bruce's chin. How could it go wrong ?

Either that or Indiana Jones and the Dentures of Doom

This was actually my favorite movie i saw this holiday! Much to my surprise!
I liked it better than Pursuit of Happyness.

They kept it very down to earth and more realistic than the previous ones. And it was more of a chic flick which made it good for the wife. And still very inspirational and feel-good. Two thumbs up from me.
