So, I need a vacation from my Christmas vacation. We just got back...Im so gonna drop. Our house was broken into while we were gone...they seem to just like creeping me out. Nothing is gone. Thank God, but at the same time, I am soooo moving. Every time we go somewhere someone comes in. This time they scared the tar out of my poor assistant. They were inside when she came to check the dog!
Then, to top it off, my fun bride (that is still giving me grief) placed her order 5 hours after her 50% off discount expired. Pictology didn't honor the expired discount, but she still expects me too. Why cant people follow directions? This is still this bride. I cant process the order like that - pictology wont let me just cut it in 1/2. Ugh!
Anyway, I was shocked to see a huge order after all that headache, then she topped it off with that nice twist.
Anyway...I was starting to think about a nice vacation. We usually go to Disney World (I LOVE Disney World. Im actually totally nuts about Disney World and made this monster to put myself through school)...but I was thinking about something a little closer to TX...like something in TX down by the gulf? But I dont know about anything there. We went to Gulf Shores AL with my hick family a few years ago. That was nice.
Anyone know of any nice beach clubs or something? I need something to look forward to!!! B/t crazy bride, robbers, and turning 30 tomorrow I'm slightly bummed.
Thinking about vacation would be a nice distraction...
:o)

Uh.... happy birthday?
Sounds like a very unpleasant holiday for you... I'm sorry to hear it. At least the thieves didn't steal anything... small comfort I know.

Might I reccomend as an alternative to DW, going to Cancun? The flight is about the same, and is even cheaper if you get the discounted rates with all inclusive resort, etc.
It's warm, cheap, comfortable, exotic. I'm going to Fla. this month, but only because we have some friends to meet up with.

Hubby doesnt like the idea of going to a 3rd world country...so Mexico has been deep 6ed many times.
Is there really nothing on the TX coast? I would have thought that with a whole gulf there, there should be something nice?
Have fun in FL Tom!
And thanks Dan! I did something different, for my B Day in NY, a little early. We went to the Mo... here. :o) I learned I stink at gambling - but I made $10 last longer than I thought was possible.
I really like the nice resorts at Disney - we usually stay in the WDW villas. I thought a condo on the coast might have a similar feel...? Maybe? Maybe not?

The burglers ran out the front door when the assistant went to look in the back of the house.
We have pepper spray by the front door...they chose an umbrella. Maybe the robbers had the pepper spray?
I think I need a tazer...or maybe I should just move? I need to throw some stuff out anyway. Well, my kids are killing each other...

You may want more real resort stuff but my favorite winter Texas Gulf Coastal destinations are Port Mansfield, Rockport or Galveston.
Port Mansfield is almost off the map a great place to just hang out and find adventures.
Rockport little coastal town and the jumping of point for the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge and just hanging out.
We just love Galveston in the winter when the tourists are gone and the fog and mists come in. You can walk the Strand in the foot steps of HCB and stay at the Hotel Galvez and feel like you are in a scene from The King of Marvin Gardens.

Less than 13, huh? In rapidly-coming-up-on-ten days, I'll be a year older too. Though I must say I'm not unhappy about it...

Happy Birthday to me! Okay, so I didnt freak out. I did that last year (I lost count and thought I was 30) ((Should I actaully admit that?)) Too late.
Well, creepy people didnt take anything. Maybe they were just squatters. I should try that sometime.
Happy B Day Heather! And Daniel! I had the funkiest cake you've ever seen today. I think the kids dropped it on the floor and then decorated it, and then put it on the cake stand. Since no one will admit what really happened, I hope it wasnt worse than that. ;o)
OH - and I got a Hannah Montana CD! Tween Music! LOL! (I like it) ((Probably shouldn't admit that either))
So, there isn't any condo complex or private beach front that is worth going to? I'm gonna end up at Disney World again, people. I made an Asuka Book from our last trip and just added a huge page to my site.
Im so ready to go somewhere!
Off to do something birthday-ish...since I wrote about Disney World all day. And edited Disney World pictures! Wahoo!
