I just recently purchase a new computer and it came with Snapfire photo software, has any one heard of this software and how good is it. And another thing, do you have to buy the full verison of photoshop? i wash shock at the price!!

It is Corel's answer to Picasa, and to upgrade to the "Pro" version is about $40. I'll try out the free version.

There are photoshop options.

Photoshop Elements 4.0 is a great program ($100). It has pretty much all of the features of it's big brother CS2 ... at least, all of the features that 80-90% of the photogs. out there will ever need.

mmm, might be ok for anything in 8-bit mode, but...since I have all these 16-bit tifs and psd files...PS it is.

I encountered Snapfire today as well. My brother/sister in law got a new computer, so I went over to help them put it together, and give them a quick 101. There computer came with Snapfire, and from what I could tell, it was a basic photo organizer. Nothing really jumped out at me as being really cool. In fact, it crashed 3 times before I could actually get it to run. End result was that we just uninstalled it.
