Livick and Gum Dichromate Printing - 01-08-2007, 07:53 AM

I'm sharing this with those who might want to try a very different kind of printing and to see some very interesting work which goes to the edge of image creation.

Once in the long past I did some very simple Gum Dichromate prints but after looking at these, I would consider trying it once more and I think a wet darkroom is a pain.

Go take a look at Livick's work and his discussion on Gum Dichromate printing. Then take a look at the other things here some good ideas to get you thinking about other paths in the forest of art.

Very interesting, now what did the people back in the 1890's use as the light source? Did they lay the works outside in direct sun to do the "printing".

Can you say do a several layer mask work, similar to lineoleum block printing, where each layer deals with a certain color group? Hence making a "colorized" photo using this process?
Looking at his gallery I see that he does full color work-portraits are very interesting.

Yes, you can lay them outside.

Here are a bunch of links on different ways to do colors.
