Muslin dying

I'm in a rush for a black background for a couple who wants some maternity shots. I got some muslin and some black dye. I'm a little hesitant on this. I'm worried that it won't come out a true black, but more like a deep charcoal grey or an ashy black. Anybody here make a black background like this? Guess I could just go and buy a king-size black sheet and see how that turns out

go buy a sheet. dying something black is like painting a white wall black. this will take you too much dye and too much time to get it true black.
