Welcome to the community!
It is very hard to be a freelancer and wanting to shoot high profile events. The role of the photographer in shooting high profile events is to give the event publicity for the person or event that the photographer is shooting. In order to get credentials to any event you would have to go thru the media relations person or a
PR firm for the event. Members of the media will have there editor or traffic person submit a written request to get a press pass to shoot the event. Also the media relations person or
PR firm will call an media outlet and invite them out to shoot.
If I may ask what are you trying to shoot? Maybe we can help you find an
honest and legal route you can try to get credentials.
