Lol. I actually heard a kid say the other day "what is that little slot for in the front?"

The other kid said "I' dun'no. Compact flash?"

I wanted to grab the second one by the ankles and beat the first one with him.

Prophet out.

Well, at least someone found something to do with the damn things. I have so many old ones around the house I could make an entire fleet!

Raise you hand if you have any 8" floppies at home

I have MS-DOS 2.11 from MickeySoft when it still fit on two DSDD 5 1/4" disks. That's right and entire OS on 2 360KB floppies. But that's back when a computer had 640KB of RAM. That's all anyone could ever need, right Mr. Gates?

I not only have 8" floppies (somewhere....), I have fresh memories of my first job: Manufacturing 8" single sided single density (64k IIRC) drives.

It was a move up from the boxes of punchcards I lugged around at TAMU.

ROFL!!!! Ok A few years ago I had a co Worker that made a wind chime out of Old MFM hard Drives!!! So I went to an old junk electronic store and bought a few old MFM hard Drives and did the same thing myself. I took apart the drive and the drive case became the top of the windchime. I took out the platters (About the size of a CD) and the metal O-Rings and Used wire to create the "string" that the platters and O-Rings hung from. I drilled holes in the platters and I made holes in the Controller boards and hung the wire and platter and O Rings and created a really geeky looking windchime. After Co-Workers saw it they asked me how much I charge for them. Needless to say I got the drives for 50 cents a piece and sold the windchime for 15 bucks a piece! hehehe Ingenuity at its VERY best! heheh I really need to go find my old windchime and hang it and take a pic of it. It truely is a geeky work of art!
