Capt. RAY and I just finished our four days overwhelming mind blowing Imaging USA experience. We stuck in San Anton because all the ice on the road. We will try to make it home tomorrow. Hope everyone we saw in Imaging USA had a good time because we sure did. Just checking if everybody got home safe?

We drove home Sunday and thankfully it wasn't that bad. I've been wondering how it was like over there the following days, knowing the weather had gotten a lot worse in Houston.

Left Monday late and made it up to past Austin and then just had about 30 miles of iced roads up to Temple from Temple on it was in good shape yesterday.
Now DFW is getting hit with snow and sleet with heavier snow to the west of Ft Worth, heading towards east Texas.
This is rare that about 60% of the whole state has either ice or snow!
Man you guys should be hitting all of the old Missions on the Mission Trail-take a city trolley to get to at least 3 of the 5 (Alamo, San Concepion and San Jose) if you don't want to drive but the farthest one south is less than 13 miles from the Alamo so not a huge distance. Make use of the SNOW/ICE PHOTO OPS it ain't that common in San Antone!

I'm still stuck in SA...ugh! Car is in the shop and noone at the dealership seems to be working, so maybe I might get lucky and they will work on it tomorrow. Im just ready to go home, though! Weather is pretty bad where I'm at. Cars in ditches and branches falling down, not to mention the snow and ice. So, maybe I will go walk around and take some pictures today, or just sit by the nice warm fireplace!

Hey Leslie.
If i were down there I'd volunteer to be a big warm Teddy Bear and keep you snuggly.
But, I am here in West Ft. Worth and it is snowing and sleeting and I don't have a fire place. I do however have a couple of bottles of adult beverage available, and will keep warm.

Sorry to hear you guys are stuck in SA. When you do have a chance to leave PLEASE be very careful! It was great to meet you guys and I hope to see ya'll again...soon!
I am going to attempt to drive on in to work.

Im stuck 15 miles from Home at a friends house. So Close But so far away. Have been here since yesterday and until they open up IH10, I can't make it home. Safe and warm so that's all that's really important in the long run. Power outages are the worries now with all the ice on the lines and trees.

Dress warm-multiple layers (*padding helps if you slip and fall)- and get out there and SHOOT!
I'm going out in a couple minutes-not much snow on the ground here and was hoping for more but looks like I need to shoot what is available- Heading over to the west side of the lake first-that wooded area below the spillway may be cool with all the ice coating.
WHAT IS REALLY FUNNY is that all those Meterologists in San Antonio for their conventions are STUCK! One of the Dallas TV stations said that their chief guy is stuck in SA and can't drive or fly out!-Really if he wanted to he could drive out but it would take him 12+ hours at 25 mph on I-35 to drive out.
Sorry to hear abour your car Leslie-hope it is as simple as some bands in the transmission being loose and that they can retension them and get it all backtogether and working in a couple hours.

Thanks, Paul. I hope so, too! Main thing is that I just want this weather to clear up so they can actually start working on it!

I drove home yesterday (left around 1:30 pm).
Nothing too big of a deal... a couple of the bridges probably had been icy at some point in the day, but I just slowed down to go over them. I pretty much drove 70-80 (that's all i'm admitting to anyway) once I got past Luling and it was all good. I got home (clear lake) around 4:15.
It seems like I drove all the way home in light rain... which hit my car and turned to ice, so my car had a nice coat of ice on it. It was really funny when I got into Houston and stopped at Mc Donald's and was trying to get the ice off of my windshield wipers. None of hte other cars were icy, I looked like I had zapped myself down from Montana or something. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
