I have a dear dear friend that you all know as Wildcrotch. Well friday afternoon she got downsized. How much does that blow?

So now all of our friends are working our networks to turn up a new gig for her ASAP.

She is a marketing communications specialist and spent the last 5 years working with Great American Business Products. While she was there she created product promotional programs and tracked results as well as designing product catalogs.

If your firm is looking for someone in this field or you know of one that is please send me a line that I can pass on to her. She is a smart motivated woman and she puts up with me and Pika.

That has to say something about dedication and patience.

Prophet out.

How does one get downsized? Laid off you mean? Sorry to hear about her downsizing...does she want to stay in the Houston area?

Downsizing is when you get fired through no fault of your own. Sales for the business requires reducing the labor force.

She does have a business degree from the University of Houston and does need to stay in the Houston area.

Thanks for replying.

Ouch...then I'm definitely sorry to hear that. I guess its different from getting laid off. In any case, I will keep my eyes and ears open as I have a couple contacts in Houston. I would definitely try the big fortune 100 companies...maybe something smaller and go from there. If I hear anything from my friends, I'll get you (to get her) get in touch with the people.
