Count me in. I was stationed in Japan for 4 years and got married over there. My wife is Japanese, so naturally, she loves sushi. We try to go to Sushi Sake at least once a month, but since we spend about $150 each time, sometimes the budget won't allow it.

In Richardson, I usually go to Genroku off of Greenvile in between arapaho and main (beltline). There are some decent places around town surprisingly. If I want to get up and go, Whole Foods is a good spot...their Salmon Avocado rolls are huge! Maybe we should do a TPF sushi night?

Love sushi, but tend to shy away from eating it when I'm hundreds of miles from the nearest ocean
The wife and I frequent the Blue Fish in Plano on the Toll Road. Good, but not quite up to what I had back in San Jose/San Francisco.
Anyone know good spots in the North Dallas/Plano area?

I love sushi but for some reason can't stomach sashimi. I can eat raw stuff but it has to be seasoned and/or rolled up. Weird.

Anyone know good spots in the North Dallas/Plano area? | Blue Fish is the premier spot for horrible sushi! I have to say that any roll that has veggies in it taste horrible and their sashimi isn't even great.
So many places in Dallas/Plano... Nakamoto (75/Park), Osaka (Preston/Park...It's buffet), umm there's that place off of the tollway and park...forgot its name but its more of a fusion place, Kampai's in Addison circle has great sushi and udon and good Monday happy hour specials.. There are a lot of mom and pop shops in between.
So anyone up for a DFW TPF sushi dinner or something?

Cowtown Sushi in Southlake is a good place. Its relatively cheap and has really good food. Granted it is not the best but for a close place that has good food it wins on my list.

I'm not a sushi eater, but the Tokyo One $15 lunch buffet seems to always draw a pretty big crowd on Belt Line close to Midway. I like the non-sushi stuff, but the majority of people are there for the sushi bar.

If you can make the extra 10 minute trip north to plano, I would recommend it...your stomach will appreciate it.

I LOVE Sushi, Sashimi, etc! I wish I'd tried it earlier in life. Our favorite sushi places are Piranha - Killer Sushi in Arlington (NE corner of NE Green Oaks and N. Collins), Sushi Sam in Southlake, and Reikyu Sushi & Bar (Mockingbird Station - Dallas). If you really want to indulge, get the chef's special boats (for two, three, etc.) at Piranha's.
