I'm getting a DVR on Friday, so no more problems with two things being on at the same time. (I hate VCR's and just don't use them anymore, but still have them)

your life will never be the same , no more missing shows because you got stuck in traffic or had last minute plans come up.

which DVR are you getting? TIVO will let you transfer shows to your PC to burn to DVD, or watch on your PC. I hardwired my TIVO in to my home network so I can transfer shows to either my laptop or my desktop.
