thanks for sharing..... I wonder though how popular Wally will be with the Brit's and if they might try to dis-credit him in some way...... There's never been any lack of ideas as to how they might have been moved, rather just a lack of knowledge as to how they WERE moved. If I remember right, the bigger stones were quarried a good many miles from there- they probably didn't move them to the site by teetering them around on concrete slabs. One of these days, they'll dig a primitive hydraulic jack out of the peat bogs... --------------------------- I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by, and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day. |
