Shooting women and children. - 01-25-2007, 01:12 PM

Sorry, just had to get this off my chest. Everytime a post asking about shooting 'seniors', 'children', 'infants', etc. come up all I can think of is the advice: "Easy! Ya just don't lead 'em so much!"

From Full Metal Jacket:
Quote:
Door Gunner: Git some! Git some! Git some, yeah, yeah, yeah! Anyone that runs, is a VC. Anyone that stands still, is a well-disciplined VC! You guys oughta do a story about me sometime!
Private Joker: Why should we do a story about you?
Door Gunner: 'Cuz I'm so *censored* good! I done got me 157 dead gooks killed. Plus 50 water buffalo too! Them's all confirmed!
Private Joker: Any women or children?
Door Gunner: Sometimes!
Private Joker: How can you shoot women or children?
Door Gunner: Easy! Ya just don't lead 'em so much!
Door Gunner: Ain't war hell?

I've wanted to do that for a long time. Now that you have, I don't feel the need.

I wonder how many times someone has done a websearch on "shooting children" women/seniors and has been directed to a bunch of snap happy photographers. Every time I see that Let's Shoot Seniors thread I just think of a group of commandos going into a seniors living center and blasting away.

Heheh - I get that all the time.

I've even said: "I'm going shooting this weekend at Brazos Bend" and have someone tell me it's illegal to hunt in a state park.
I've said the same thing for Downtown also.

It's even worse that I sometimes refer to my photo expeditions where I drive around looking for something as a "Hunt."
Last year I did a few "I'm hunting in Ft Bend this weekend. I hope to shoot that Bald Eagle that's been seen near the power plant." That got a few looks.
