Thanks. I still find myself culturally adrift when it comes to finding seldom needed items like that. I would know exactly where to go in the UK to buy it, but not here.

A skein dhu is a small dagger hidden in the sock(literally black knife). I have haggis to butcher this evening.

Yeah any decent sized or old school grocery store will have silver polish in stock (just ask a stockperson or a manager where it is at in their store). Paste works better than cremes I have found.

Walmart had it- in the cleaner section of our "Big Walmart".

And might I ask if this is a handmade haggis or a canned haggis? Do you have any suggestions as to canned haggis?

I've heard Caledonian Kitchen is decent, never tried it though, and likely never will.

Are you hosting a Burns supper?

I've read about Caledonian Kitchen but somehow a Haggis made and canned in Texas just doesn't seem right. Lewisville isn't a flower in the highlands.

I used to eat it once or twice a month, before I move to the US and found it was unfit for human consumption :)

I'm attending, and as one of the few with an appropriate brogue, reading at a supper.
