The Police Reunite!!

So if you're not the mega geek fan of The Police like I am, you may not know, but they've gotten back together!! Rumor has it there will be a massive summer US/UK tour, and it's been confirmed (finally) that they will be the opening act on the Grammys Feb 11th! Currently they're jamming in Vancouver, and there's a possibility of new material as well!

This is the kind of thing I always dreamed about. My favorite band ever, never got to see them live (even though my dad's cousin sang back up for them in 83 and my parents and older bro met them backstage!), it seemed a pipedream they'd actually reunite considering it's been 25 years since they toured. They've all been active in their own thing, always denied ever getting back together (especially Sting), and I got a brief glimpse at their induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. I never thought this would happen though!!

So anyways, just wanted to share! Watch the Grammys (for the first 10mins at least) and enjoy one of the best bands in the world. They will be THE BIGGEST act touring this summer!!!

Them and good ol' DLR and Van Halen.. minus Michael Anthony. That will be a goofy tour..but I'll go for sure.

No goofiness about the Police at all.. Class act. Should be fun!

BTW- because I remember Andrew posting in the Rush thread- looks like their latest album is done! We shoud see it in a few months and a tour this summer seems inevitable from them too!!

The Rolling Stones were easily the highest grossing tour of 2006.....$138.5 million for just 39 shows.

I'd bet the Police could top that figure without even trying.

Course'....it'd be nice if they weren't $100 tickets like the 'Stones.

I wonder if Sting would get Pdiddy to cameo for him on a tour stop. Wonder what band will reunite next? GnR? Axel and Slash are not dead yet, or are they?

That's great news! I love The Police. I saw them live and Sting live, both incredible shows. In fact, the reason I got into photography back when I was 19 or so was so I could work for Rolling Stone and photograph Sting. I wanted to marry him...LOL! Well, decided I'd rather be a war photographer, go figure, and still working on that goal. I figured war photography was more of an adrenaline rush than photographing and marrying Sting...haha!
