Last one took about half a day to read - what were you planning on doing the rest of the summer ? :)

Wonder if they'll find a leaked copy and ruin it for the people waiting on line for the book again?

My wife has been an avid fan of these books since the beginning and would wait patiently for each release. She's a slowish reader and in the time it took her to read the 6th book I decided to read the first 5 back-to-back and waited patiently for her to be done with the 6th. She refused to let me read it while she was working through it. I wasn't really a fan, but felt that I should read the series since it has had some significance to our society from a historic perspective...and my wife kept bugging me to read the books.

I must say, I've since become a fan, not rabid, but a fan happy to see the last book being released sooner rather than later.

I'll buy 2 copies, since I won't be able to stand waiting on my wife to finish her copy first.

Great news, the wife and I are fans, not rabid, but fans.

Who thinks that Rowling will have a harder time getting past Harry Potter than Conan Doyle had getting rid of Sherlock Holmes? (Doyle killed Holmes off in one story to be finally done with him, and then had to invent a way to bring him back because he couldn't deal with the outcry and demand for more.)

We arent totally nuts - then again?

When I was preggers and rather green with morning sickness Mike would read the books to me. Its nostalgic of back in the day - before kids. Ya know - when mornings weren't covered in drool and other things you never thought you'd be wearing.

That's funny Steven...I read really slowly and it drives Mike nuts. He likes to fly right through. I caught him "sneak reading" the last few books. Awe! Busted! :o)

I'm with Steven on this one. I avoided them untill a month ago then I picked them up and read them all in less than a week. I am not one of those nutters that will wait in line for a couple of days to get the book but it will certianly be on my to do list for July.
