I remember the Brits doing things like that in the 80's. We we're on a train going to Peterborough and because of the footballers (soccer fans) our train was pulled off the tracks in Dundee. Dundee fans were allowed into the stadium. Then the cops locked the Dundee fans in and allowed the fans on our train to get off and they were escorted to the stadium. We were in fear of our lives when the train was sidelined. These guys were drinking heavily and the fact there were little children made no difference.

They went to the game for the fight. The game was intermission. A one point Denmark banned some of the Brit footballers. When the Brits landed in Denmark the Danish police would throw them in jail for spitting on the street. Brit footballers had a real bad reputation on the continent.

Sometimes I think the world has just too many people.

Too many people isn't the problem. A lack of self-discipline, restraint, and plain old civility is the problem. Not much has changed in this regard since the Roman era, when similar things happened at their games.

Have to say I'm impressed with the officials reaction... basically if this is how you want to treat soccer, then you can't have any.
