IT salaries in Dallas

Hi all,

My wife and I are going to be moving to Dallas in June/July this year - visa still to be granted. I have no idea of the cost of living, I looked around at house rentals and cars etc, but that doesn't really give you a very detailed picture.
Anyway, I don't really want to post details of my salary offer in public, but I would really appreciate it if someone currently working as a programmer or IT person would be willing to answer a few questions as to whether two people could live comfortably on the salary.
Please PM me. Oh, and if there are any South Africans who have relocated to Texas who have any advice to share. I am clueless, still equivicating on whether to sell or rent my house in JHB, any advice or stories greatly appreciated.
