I just bought a Nikon D80 yesterday and am trying to get the lcd to stay on while I am taking the picture. Any idea how to do that. I have only got to play around with for about an hour or so.

You can't use the LCD to frame the picture. It's a feature of the SLR design.

Welcome to the forum, Tab! And you know , the only dumb question is the one you didn't ask! I understand your feeling, it is a HUGE adjustment to go from point/shoot to dSLR!!I just got my first, a Canon10D. No you cannot look at the lcd while shooting... this is a PRO camera, and you have to get used to shooting like a pro, thinking like a pro, and composing like a pro. The best of luck to you!!
