"The national tour of Lauren Greenfield's THIN will debut at The Women's Museum in Dallas, Texas, the only comprehensive women's history museum in the United States, with an opening reception from 6-8pm on February 22, 2007. The opening will include cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres and an introduction by Director Lauren Greenfield and curator Trudy-Wilner Stack.
The THIN exhibition weaves together large-scale portraits and documentary photographs, recorded voices, videos and narrative texts educational facts and resources, to bring museum audiences a clear, compelling and humanely drawn look at a pervasive cultural problem. During this national traveling exhibit, each location will hold special events to educate not only young women, but women of all ages, along with boys and men, on the devastating results that an eating disorder can have on their health, behavior, and spirit.
