Decided to forgo a telephoto and just get a Nifty 50 and Grip for the time being. Ordered the 50 1.8 yesterday and they say it is supposed to get here the 22nd... I want to have it already! Searched on Amazon.com for it and with shipping and everything I paid $76.

Josh, that's a smart move. Once you start using the 50mm, you'll be spoiled for how fast, small, cheap and SHARP it is! I've been kind of ticked off recently because I was trying to pick up an autofocus 50mm for my Pentax. Every other manufacturer I've used in the past has had 50mm lenses available new for around $100 (or less!) and plenty on the used market, but not Pentax. Very few places even have their AF 50mm in stock new, and you're lucky to find it on the used market for around $200!

Those must be some crazy good 50's at that price.

Tell Pentax get with the program and lower their prices.

Borrowed my brothers 50 F1.8 this past weekend and it was very nice. Also got to use some of his Kenko extension tubes. This is what I got.
