In case y'all don't know it daylight savings time changes next month on the 11th. Make sure that any and all of your computers, copiers, time clocks, etc. that have clocks in them are updated to account for the new dates.

Sort of a no-op for me as I run my home systems on Zulu time. Just have to change a few clocks, stove and microwave.

Additional info about MAC's and old PC's - 02-22-2007, 05:50 PM

"Starting the second Sunday of March in 2007, that could cause all sorts of problems for Americans using Mac OS 8.x, 9.x, and early versions of OS X - and probably lots of people with Windows 95, 98, Me, etc. as well. The system clock (on older computers) will be off by an hour, and if it's changed manually, it will jump an additional hour on the first Sunday in April."

Java based time sensitive applications (Server and workstation) (Sun already has updates so get them)

I'd say that most of us reading these words have access to some computer or other...

.......

Slow news day, eh?

Is the accuracy of the clock on a home computer of such importance that we should even worry about it? I had a notebook computer for years that, with a dead RTC battery (remember those?) never had the right time. Sometimes I was bored and reset it. But as soon as I unplugged it (the main battery was toast so it only worked on wall power), back to noon or midnight or whatever.

Nothing blew up, and the world kept turning. For years......

Last I heard they were supposed to do just that. Maybe they are planning on gradually weening us off of it?

Apparently MS Automatic Updates had already installed the change on my PC, but there is a second one for Outlook that had not installed as of yet.

actually, they aren't getting rid of it, quite the opposite. The time 'on' DST is INCREASING, not decreasing. If fact there are some movements to get it permanently implemented, meaning everyone just jumps ahead once and forever.

Personally I would rather be on DST all year round. I hate when it gets dark at 5:30 in the winter.
