Laurie,

She will be in my prayers. As will everyone around her that she will need to lean on for support. We went through this a couple years ago with my mother in law. She is also a part of a foundation (can't think of the name off the top of my head) but she is like a survivor counselor, she talks to women going through the same thing, she visits with them and is someone that has been there and done that and helps to prepare and give a kind of strength to these women that other people that have not lived it can not give. So if you think she would want to talk to someone else that has been through it PM me and we can get them connected. There is power in prayer and I will be giving it all I've got for your family.

Laurie, my mom had breast cancer and wound up having a double mastectomy a few years ago... MD Anderson was great and did an outstanding job taking care of her. She is new 2+ years cancer free and doing wonderful.

I'm sure your step-mother will do fine. I'll keep your fam in my prayers...

A little good new - 02-26-2007, 09:37 AM

First I wanted to say thank you all for your support, I have passed it on to Grace my step mom and she also sends a heart felt thank you. It's going to be a rough road ahead for her, but I have a few facts now that I did not have before. They did catch it early and it's also the most common type of breast cancer. So, we will know more in the next week or so but for now we have to wait for them to do surgery to find out the extent of the cancer. Again thank you all for the support, it goes a long way!
