Wildflower forecast - 02-24-2007, 11:13 AM

Anybody know the forecast for wildflowers this year? Last year was dreadful. For the first time in her life my 9 y/o daughter didn't have any BBonnets to sit in. And if you ask her that was just fine. I told her it's part of her Texas Heritage..."As a kid, you HAVE to sit in the damn BBonets!!!"

Yes, last year was pretty dreadful. I don't know what the forecast is this spring, but I have seen a variety of wildflowers sprouting up here and there lately.

too funny! I'll be ,hopefully, enjoying wildflower photography this April as opposed to last year. I love morning photography of the wildflowers because everyone and their dog ISN'T there, but it's sure fun during the evening to watch people, dogs, and the kiddos in the wildflowers-whether they like it or not...

Central Texas is likely to be iffy. The dry fall is a bad omen and although January was wet, it may have been too late and someone turned off the faucet at the end of January.

WELL in Washington is the SKaggit Valley Tulip Festival soon. I hope to be there , might spend a night even to get the good light. If you are in the area..might be something to check out.

And PLEASE: Do not sit (nor set anyone) IN the bluebonnets!

Amongst, in front of, behind, yes....but not IN or ON.

I don't much enjoy our beautiful fields of blue with random butt-smushed-into-oblivion flat spots....and doubt you do either.
