mp3 to ringtone - 02-24-2007, 10:12 PM

Im looking for a program that will allow me to edit mp3 files to save them down to the 30 second or so limit for cell phone ring tones.

im getting a new phone Monday (Moto RAZR V3xx, the 3g RAZR). I have a 2 gig MicroSD card ready to put tons of mp3's on it (I am resampling a bunch down to 64 bit) and I want to use some of the MP3's I have as ring tones.

I found a good program to resample them down to the lower bit rate, but cant find anything with and good reviews for editing MP3's

James

I have audacity... you can trim the composition down (export selection as .mp3).

A friend of mine at work uses Audacity and swears by it. He uses it to edit down MP3 to just have what he wants for the ringtone and I believe to resample at whatever bit rate he wants.
