Can An Apt Complex Ask For That!!?? - 02-28-2007, 01:34 PM

rancho palisades apt complex (frankford & tollway) asked my girlfriend what kind of car she drove when she called to schedule a tour of an apt. The lady said that it's necessary so they could determine if she could afford the apt or not. WTF!!?? ARE THEY SERIOUS???

The owner of the law firm I work for has easily 100 million in cars in his collection, ask him what he drives and he'll tell you a 1974 Chevy truck .. it was his fathers and he had it restored.

Guess he can't afford

O'Quinn also maintains an extensive collection of collector cars with a total value of over $100 million. In October 2005, he bought Pope John Paul II's 1975 Ford Escort GL (€690,000). In September 2006, he bought a 2005 Lamborghini Gallardo covered with 33 celebrity autographs ($500,000), the Batmobile used in the filming of Batman Forever ($335,000), a 1941 Packard limousine used by President Franklin D. Roosevelt ($290,000) and a 1938 Cadillac Town Car used by Pope Pius XII ($250,000).

AGM delegates and guests will have an opportunity on Friday evening to visit one of the largest private car collections in the country. Our host will be noted attorney John O'Quinn. His private 750+ car collection contains cars from the brass era to modern supercars. In addition to rare Jaguars such as the XJR-15 and the XJ220, his collection includes cars owned by public figures such as Queen Elizabeth and Pope John Paul II (before he became Pope) and cars featured in films such as the Batmobile.

Just a few clips from various write ups. He has 2 original mint 427 Shelby Cobra's and a 289 Shelby Cobra, he has a Ferrari Enzo, he has a McLaren GTR .. that place is a car nuts dream.

have never heard of that being a requirement or hearing of anyone asking for that type of info. I guess they can ask, but it should not be a factor. They probablly have real strict policies that would not make it worth living there

Yep .. he actually replaced that one with an exact one like it and it's sitting with 11 miles on the odometer, he also bought a silver with red interior to drive.

100 million cars -vs- 100 million $$ WORTH OF CARS.....a tad bit of diff we'll chalk up to typo.....

say thanx to the class action lawsuit, Mr O'Quinn. Aren't you glad you didn't get paid in coupons like your clients?

If that's not the definition of "Dallas" I don't know what is.. geez. I'd give them some sort of suitably politically incorrect response...

You should take it off her hands
