Ya.. should rise fully eclipsed... nice, big (even if it is an optical illusion) red ball on the horizon right at moonrise.

http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/docs/RS_OneYear.html
Shows Dallas at 5:28 pm for rise and set at 6:19 am Houston is 5:26 and 6:09 , Midland is 5:51 and 6:40 am.

So go out sometimes after 5:15 pm and look in the east.

This works great for me because I will be going to the Irish Fest in Dallas tonight-free entry from 6pm till 7pm.

Today is the 2nd, not the 3rd.

*Edit* And it looks like the moonrise/set times you posted are also for the 2nd, moonrise tomorrow is supposed to be at 6:21 in Houston.

Stolen off the AP wire:

The Earth's shadow will begin to creep over the Moon -- a stage known as the penumbral eclipse -- at about 20:18 GMT on Saturday, according to
NASA, and will recede entirely some six hours later at 02:23 GMT on Sunday.

The period of total eclipse will be relatively short, lasting from 22:40 to 23:57 GMT, a total of 77 minutes.

Total lunar eclipses normally occur roughly every couple of years, but those who miss the one this weekend will get another chance to see the moon disappear on August 28. The last took place on October 28, 2004.

Total solar eclipses happen when the Moon crosses between the Earth and the Sun.

David...I hear ya!! Completely!! Unfortunately...well not really unfortunately, I have to keep it local here. I'll be down at the Wooland hills boat launch looking due east, I'll have my daughters until tomorrow night.
Not a great image but it's where I'll be lookin' :)

Ok, being the science dork I am - I did some calculating

These are in Central Time:

Lunar Eclipse will start at 2:18pm.
Total Eclipse will last from 4:40pm - 5:57pm
Lunar Eclipse will cease at 8:18pm

According to NOAA, Sunset times are:

6:22pm in Houston
6:25pm in Dallas
6:31pm in Austin
6:32pm in Corpus Christi
6:35PM in San Antonio
7:05pm in El Paso
Calculate other cities here by Lat/Long
Get your Lat/Long coordinates here

Saturday Night Skies forcasted:

Houston - Mostly Clear
Dallas - Clearing Skies
Austin - Clear
San Antonio - Clear
El Paso - Clear
Corpus Christi - Decreasing Clouds

Might get some good twilight pics during sunset of the Red Moon if it's visible. Otherwise only the partial eclipse will be seen....
