Texas Independence Day, March 2nd. If you've never read it here's the text. This once was a big state holiday with schools and banks closing. There are some local festivals going on if you are around one check it out. There's a nice ceremony at the State Cemetery in Austin scheduled. Of course the Aggies can't get it right and celebrate it on April 21th. But a Muster Day will move you and they do it right. Dearest John: April 21 is San Jacinto day, the day VICTORY was attained, hence the date chosen by us Aggies for celebration and remembrance.
