Can I brag? My daughters won the State Dance Comp!

My oldest and youngest daughters are on a competitive drill team and they had their State Competition this weekend. My oldest daughter is 12 and did 4 dances....pom, military, prop and ensemble. They won 1st place for all their dances and Sweepstakes!

And my 6 year old is on the Kindergarten team. They do one jazz routine and they won first place for it!!!

And she also does a solo. She won 1st place for the Kindergarten age division, so she is the State Champion!!!

#12 At the end of the *very* long day, the solo finalists danced again. Here she is doing her "encore" dance


#13 The gym was *packed* with hundreds of people! We couldn't believe how she got out there and just danced away in front of them all! LOL

The gym was *very* slippery. She fell flat on her face several times in the practice gym. Fortunately she stayed on her feet during competition, although she did slip a couple of times! LOL

She should stick with it.. my sister is on her highschool's drill team and she absolutely loves it. Plus I think they get to go to either NYC or Disneyworld. Not only that but, she's got tons of friends in it and she generally just has a good time. It's a lot of work, but worth it. That's the kind of stuff you end up remembering.
